Leland Yee Secures Coveted Too $hort Endorsement

Sen. Leland Yee, a 62-year-old man running for SF mayor on the theme of providing free Muni passes for children and making the sky rain watermelon Four Loko, just locked up Too $hort’s prized endorsement and the support of $hort’s political machinery.  And what does this mean for you?  An epic party with Mr. “BBIIAAATTTCCCHHHH” himself:

Bay Area hip-hop legend Too $hort will headline this party to benefit the Leland Yee for San Francisco Mayor campaign. The party will include a special performance by San Francisco rapper Big Rich. Rap the vote with friends and supporters of Leland Yee while making sure you’re registered to vote this November.

While that description doesn’t sound much like a party, our friend Hater Tuesday gives us a taste of what poetic genius you can expect from $hort on stage:

  • “How you gonna be broke when you got a pussy?”
  • “What the fuck were ya’ll doin in ’89? Most ya’ll in here were in 3rd grade listenin’ to Too $hort. You wanna know what I was doin’ in ’89? I was a grown ass man. I had a drop top Cadillac, a big ass cellphone, big ropes danglin’ from my neck …driving cross the Bay Bridge gettin’ my dick sucked.”
  • “Square bitches shut the fuck up!”
  • “They told me to stop taking weed from the white people in the crowd.”
  • “There is a girl in the front row right here… I just want to fuck her face. Girl, I feel like my dick and your face have a connection.”
  • “I be fuckin’ aunties. It used to be baby sisters, now it’s aunties. I’m 45….nigga been around. Ya’ll laugh but I’m telling you, Too $hort fucked your auntie….And some mammas. Investigate. Find out ask some aunties. Don’t be surprised when they like, “How you know I fucked $hort?”

It goes down next Wednesday (Oct. 12th!) for a scant $30 donation to Yee’s campaign.  See you there!

Muppet Bar Famous For Lacking Muppets to Feature Muppets For One Night Only

All PBRs to receive complimentary mustache ride.

If Yelp is an indication of what normal people think of local establishments (it's not), then the lack of muppets, puppets, and uniform flannel-shirted alcoholics is a serious issue for Dr. Teeth's credibility.  Lucky for the bar's pro-Muppet detractors, the bar is host to a puppet-filled music video premiere this Saturday.  Kori fills us in:

My friend Adele and I wanted to make a music video featuring puppets. We weren't commissioned to create it—-we just thought it would be fun.

We picked Anita Ward's “Ring My Bell” for the music. This means the video probably won't be allowed on YouTube, but whatever.  The video features puppets (Lucy and Mr. Pink) that I purchased and made. The couple hangs out in the Mission after meeting on “OkStupid.” We filmed all around the Mission including Dolores Park, where random park-goers were eager to participate.

We also filmed at the new bar, Mayhem, on Mission and 19th. The owners have been nice enough to allow us to celebrate the video and screen it there this Saturday night around 9:30.

Here's a taste of hold you over / confuse the hell out of you:

And if we're lucky, we might see a cameo by Summer Santa and his 38-year-old BART card:

BREEZEE ONE a.k.a. MISSION GIRLFRIEND a.k.a. DETROIT JELLY HOE raps about Bicycles

I know everyone's getting tired of hearing about how Kreayshawn has inspired an entire generation of horrifying white chicks to rap about random ass objects, but this track is seriously wicked.

And don't forget to read her blog about boning Pop's patrons, Mission Boyfriends.

Oakland Duo Takes Limo to Dolores Park to Rap About Four Loko

This video has it all: dancing on park benches, facial expressions that capture the true taste of Four Loko, crowd surfing in a Shell gas station parking lot…

… and it even has Unchill AZN Bro flashing his whitie tighties:

Shit's gross as hell, but if you listen to the lyrics, there's some real gems in there.  A tatted white girl talking about putting people into a hearse.  Pronouncements that Four Loko never went away.  Real talk.

Give it a watch:

(Thanks Sally!)

Lil Tuffy Debutes the Outside Lands 2011 Poster

Everyone's favorite Mission poster maker and Pop's bacon and Budweiser-monger, Lil Tuffy, is now showing off this year's official Outside Lands poster.  And what a poster it is, highlighting the things that make San Francisco so great: Sutro Tower, baseball, food, booze, music, sea lions, Ray-Bans, and genital crabs.

No word how much it costs, but he'll be slangin' his wares on the Polo Fields during the festival.

Little Wings and Royal Baths hold it down this Saturday at Regional Bias

Nicole over at The Bay Bridged let's us know what's up:

This Saturday we're throwing a show / our fifth birthday party at the Verdi Club, Regional Bias.

It's officially Royal Baths' last SF show before moving to NY, all the other bands are local, too. Like the last few shows, we'll have a pop up gallery with local artists, and food this year comes from Rosamunde and Rocky's Fry Bread. We're raffling off Treasure Island tickets. It's a pretty fun event, which typically breaks out into a dance party after the live music ends. We'll have a few local guys DJing as well - Kevin Meenan (of epicsauce) and Peter Arko (Ears of the Beholder).

Local music, dancing, and sausages?  Oh yes.

For the unfamiliar, TBB has a sampling of what you can expect to hear.  Ticket's are also up for grabs with a $10-$20 donation.
