Nothing like a little bloodshed with Sutro in the background.

Lefty O'Doul Gets His Arm Back, Bloggers Show Up By the Handful

Apparently, Lefty O'Doul, which I found out was merely a mannequin and not a taxidermied version of the man himself, had his left arm stolen a few years back and was taken on a whirlwind tour of the globe, as reported by NPR. Not bad, not bad, but I'd like to see someone do this with one of the Doggy Diner heads.

I showed up, spurred on more by the rumors of free alcohol than by any interest in seeing the reattachment of the arm by an actual doctor (paid for by Obamacare). I shot this and it features at least one world famous blogger, Beth Spotswood, who blogged about me blogging about her and here I am blogging about that like an even shittier version of Inception. Here's a bonus video I shot of Stevie Nicks talking to the doctor:

GGGGOOOAAAAALLLLLL

I think it is great that SundayStreets will be bringing the World Cup to the sun deprived residents of the Mission, but I can't help but wish they were showing it Dolores Park again this year:

* Little known fact: whiny people blame the 2006 showing of the World Cup in Dolores Park as the major cause of the park's modern day popularity.

Lebron surely headed to the Warriors

What with their new future-bridge logo, the possibility of Larry Ellison buying the team, and the above information from the obviously hilarious Warriors beat writer Marcus Thompson it seems to leave little doubt that King James will be announcing his signing with Golden State tomorrow night. I know I shouldn't be posting about sports on San Francisco's number one rated hipster blog, but seeing as I almost got beat up by one of the Uptown writers for talking smack about the Red Sox last week, I figure it's okay.

Pop's Seventh Annual Tricycle Race: A Photo Journal

Winner of best costume and best facial expression caught on camera.

Unfortunately I'm an idiot and got to Pop's right at 5pm, so I couldn't compete myself. However, I was able to be a creeper and take 'mad photos' of the race.

Proving to be the Lance Armstrong of 24th and York, Tuffy won the competition for the 5th goddamn time.  Also, since I don't want to make your browser explode, I decided to embrace Flickr and upload all 55 shots there.

Five-time champion Tuffy showering the crowd with confetti.

GOAL TROLL

The Culprit

For those of you who didn't show up to work on time after last week's early morning US v Slovenia game, below is a screencap of what FIFA ref Koman Coulibaly's wiki entry read for about 20 mins before the buzzkills took it down.  It was recently announced that Coulibaly would not be officiating in the next round of games.  YELLOWCARDED MOTHERFUCKER.

Highlights include:

  • “Coulibaly is rumoured to hate the United States of America with the burning passion of a white hot sun.”
  • “Coulibaly's exploits have drawn comparisons to such sporting pariahs as Jim Joyce, Don Denkinger, Tim Donaghy, and even BP CEO Tony Heyward.”

If you're interested in seeing the US stomp all over Algeria in a match that isn't ref'd by Koman 'LOL Whut?' Coulibaly, you are welcome to freeze your ass off at the Civic Center tomorrow at 7am.

FUCKING AROUND SAN FRANCISCO

This video perfectly sums up life in San Francisco (ignoring that it didn't have 660 calorie cans of Four Loko in it).

From the vimeo page:

The second edit with the Kodak play sport now with wide & macro lenses. I'm trying to share what I see from day to day in San Francisco, CA. and surrounding bay area. Nothing serious. I hope you enjoy. weouthere.

Former Indie Rockers / "Cool Dad" Band Weezer Release US World Cup Theme

Weezer reminds us that it DOES matter if you win or lose.  BEAT ENGLAND!  Lets do this for the Brits taxing our forefathers, British Petroleum spilling oil onto our shores, and for Radiohead snubbing Miley Cyrus last year.

All the cool kids will be at AT&T Park tomorrow at 11:30am for the USA vs England game, Fun Cheap SF has the details.

Weezer's 'Represent' is available to download for free on iTunes.
