Whimsical Bullshit

Weekly Property Damage Rundown: Tech Backlash, Labeling Nature

It's been a while since we took a look at the graffiti situation in the neighborhood.  Let's.

Helpful labeling for the aspiring botanist.

I never seen San Francisco's soul, since it apparently went missing before I got to town, but I called the hotline anyway and was told I won a free vacation to the Bahamas.

This is one of the most objectively awful pieces of graffiti we've seen in some time—clearly someone was in a huff to express their contempt for “Betas”.  But “FUCK BINARY”?  We're in awe.

A newly proposed micohood on 19th Street for the taint between Lexington Club and Beauty Bar.

Quite the complicated name—imagine screaming that out in bed?

Independence Day is Also Tricycle Racing Day

Pop's yearly tradition is back again, this time for their 10th anniversary race.  Here's the details:

Thursday is the Tenth Annual Tricycle Races at Pop's.

We open at noon and will be getting the BBQ going shortly thereafter. $2 PBRs all day.

Registration for the race opens at 1pm. Costume required. Race at 5pm.

We've attempted to race this race ourselves in years past, but the registration was always filled up by the time we got there, so be sure to get there early.  (And with the loot for this year's fastest rider of children's transportation being a one-of-a-kind Chrome Citizen Bag designed by bar manager/famed artist Lil Tuffy, you can expect the competition to be fierce.)

Taking Your Dog Out For a Drag

I'm appalled at the overall laziness/adorableness of this animal (and impressed at the effort the owner has gone to entertain their insolent dog's inertia), but I have to admit, the bouquet of flowers is a nice touch.
