Tenderloin and SoMa Supervisor Jane Kim recently visited a SRO and educated its residents on privilege.

“There is a privilege to being white in this country. I’m not saying that if you’re white, you have a lot of power as an individual. But if you’re white, you might be more likely to find a white President, a white Senator, a white police chief. I mean, I’m just saying, right?”
Her lesson to the privileged audience pushed me to wake up and check my own privilege.

As if being Asian-American, the model minority, has not given Jane Kim a significant advantage in life?
oh, SO NOW I”M THE ASSHOLE? my gut tells me this is a movie line. this video is fucking confusing to me. why is she lecturing these SRO dudes about anything?
Jane Kim is in a contest to be the dumbest member of the BoS and really, the competition is insanely fierce. At some point, she should take note that the only reason she was voted in was because a) BoS elections are a circus with too many fringe candidates and b) all the transplant white boys from the Mid West with an Asian fetish voted for her.
The amount of times I’d say during that election, “Dude, she has no experience, no knowledge of the issues, and probably can’t even spell San Francisco”, the reply would be, “But, she’s so hot.” And really, she ain’t hot (if you ever see her ears, you’ll know what I mean), unless you’re one of those losers that woods out every time you see one of them “oriental” girls.

Jane Kim makes a six figure income and is easily one of the dumbest members of the Board of Supervisors, who trades on her mainstream good looks to charm the press. She represents a district that has both the wealthiest in our city and the poorest. And she lectures people about “privilege?”
She needs to take this collegiate level hackneyed ethnic studies class back to Stanford (!) and Boalt Hall (!!) and shut the fuck up. While other people will never go to those schools despite their smarts and because they don’t have the money or the government on their side, she runs around telling us all what to do and acts all superior while wearing fancy clothes and eating fancy food. IF HER FRIENDS COULD SEE HER NOW!
