HEY INTERNETS YOU LIKE MAPS RIGHT?

if you want to peep the pdf click the image above and you can look at color coded squares explaing how they plan to build more blocks of boring to fill the streets of Mission Bay so that you can live in a fortress of beige without having to see the people who still walk on the street in a neighborhood where the most interesting building is this parking garage. The park at block P6 was finally opened last month after being wrapped off with chainlink fence for fucking months, I guess the lawn was real fancy or some bullshit.

“Blocks of boring” pretty much sums up my feelings on Mission Bay.

On the bright side, all those buildings are so shabby and poorly built that they’re not going to last long. The place will either go back to being a ghetto, or will be replaced with something nicer over time.

Yeah, that’s basically my feeling about the new shit they’re building in the Mission. It may be ugly and boring, but at least it is built like crap and so it’ll all need to be replaced in 30 years.

despite the rather bland architecture, it’s interesting to note that the distinct purpose of each block is mapped out, and that most of the lots are already spoken for, despite the big fields of dirt that persist. also, that a LOT of those residential buildings have space for below market or even very low income housing. maybe when it’s all built it’ll look boring, but the mix of residents should provide a more interesting neighborhood…?

Maybe you should focus on this area (something outside of your precious Mish). Oh, wait, you’ll be in some other hellhole in 2-4 years, so if doesn’t matter. Got it.
