ROA

Lydia from Mission Local came across this horribly lame news this morning:

Chris, who said he was from the collective Wallspace, was out this morning at 10:30 a.m. with two artists, Geso and Nemel, preparing to cover up the Seals on Bartlett and 22nd streets.

Lydia goes on to point out that most of the street is peppered with tags and blank walls, but the artists said the sea lions "had to come down."

ROA part III from Spencer Keeton Cunningham on Vimeo.

This recent video documents the recent painting of a trio of three-story-tall sea lions by ROA in the Mission. It shows the softer side of ROA: ROA the fingerpainter, ROA the artist concerned for children's eyes, ROA the artist who is not too busy for the toothless crazy man. A true man of integrity.

ROA Hits Valencia

Tagged: ROA

When ROA wasn't busy drawing a giant rabbit on the side of Hemlock Tavern the other week, he was on 15th and Valencia painting this gnarly rat and getting harassed by no less than 6 squad cars.  Unfortunately it got splashed with paint before he could finish it.  Bummer.

ROA recently finished up a rad new mural outside of the Hemlock while tail-ending his show at White Walls.  Unfortunately, this means we've lost the GIANT FUCKING SHARK we all came to know and love that was on the same wall.  'Tis the nature of street art, I suppose.
