Gross. And not because they’re gay.

Thanks mucho for using my photo with credit and permission. Actually, I’m pretty sure these pigeons are heterosexual (I named them Mabel and Charlie), but you’re right, all of us who voted against prop 8 are VERY happy about the ruling!

Now I ain’t gay or nothin’, but anything that Mormons are in favor of is probably bad.

predictions:

1. Judge Walker’s decision will be unwanted baggage for democrats in the midterm elections. The house is up for grabs in November and this does not bode well for those democrats in tight elections in the midwest and south.

2. Judge Walker’s decision is bad for an Obama presidency that courted gay votes during the campaign but has other let down that community since being sworn into office.

3. The 9th Circuit, either the 3 judge panel (depending on the draw) or en banc will reverse Walker’s opinion (a very strategic opinion notwithstanding).

4. The SCOTUS will only grant cert if No. 3 is incorrect. And we all know what Kennedy (Lawrence notwithstanding) will do.

Remember, less than 8 years ago, it was permissible to criminalize private consensual sodomy. Simply put, this country has NOT moved that far towards equality for gays and lesbians.
