There's a short, low-quality video we're only learning about now, but it's tickling our imagination and forcing us to contemplate how to get up there ourselves.  (Also, can we bungee jump off this thing?  The city could probably close its budget deficit by charging for terrifying tours/jumps...)

Reader Amber B. sent us along this snap of a fresh Sutro tattoo done by Natasha at Sacred Rose in Berkeley.  Of course, getting a tattoo of a SF landmark in Berkeley is slightly suspect, but we'll give it a pass because of the style points.

Sutro Tower Tattoos

Jeff McC was at Zeitgeist for the Tamale Lady's birthday when he peeped some Sutro Tower ink.  I'm pretty sure this is the most definitive proof that a person, at one time or another, lived in The City.  Yeah, I guess you could get a tattoo of the Golden Gate Bridge to prove you lived in the East Bay (??), but that's some tourist shit.  You're tattoo is only cool if people east of Antioch have to ask you what it means.

Seems like Sutro tatts are not all that rare.  Elly has a pretty epic one of her back:
