Good Dog of the Week: Bulldog Bros

Just look at these little guys.  They look like they sneak out at night, put on little police caps and solve crimes riding around in an adorable tiny police cruiser.  The Chief doesn't like it but well… there's no rule on the books that says a dog can't be a police officer!

Maybe they already made that show?

500 Club Photobooth On The Move

So where is it going? Are they refurbishing it? Sending it to go swim with the fishes at Toxic Beach and replacing it? Maybe taking it for a walk to air it out after years of drunken Missionites spilling beer and making out inside of it?

Unfortunately, I was too busy taking this picture illegally to ask.

Get Weird Or Go Home Tonight At RVCA

We know this rain is totally bringing you down, and all you want to do tonight is sit at home and watch last week's episode of Start-Ups: Silicon Valley (OH-EM-GEE she live blogged her date with the nerd/model?! Pa-TEH-tic), but do yourself and your sanity a favor and head over to RVCA tonight for the release party for the next installment of you favorite zine, Get Weird Or Go Home II. From their Facebook event page:

Our beloved Get Weird Or Go Home zine is turning two this year and to celebrate we're throwing a bash with beers, babes, hot chick DJs, bands and lots of copies 4 sale!
The special twist to the evening is that photos from Get Weird Or Go Home will be hanging in the RVCA store and FOR SALE. Unreal, right? No way! This is real life and we are just so excited to show-off our talented friends!

ZINE COPIES FOR SALE: $10 CASH/CHECK
FIRST 25 COPIES SOLD GET SPECIAL SHIT!

The roll call of GWOGH's contributors reads like a who's-who of local photog's and creatives that have made a name for themselves already, plus I know *for a fact* that this event will be crawling with babes. Everywhere. Also, you're dying to know what “special shit” is.

See you there.

We're number 1!

We did it

We won

We're World Champs

Somehow, we pulled through to put Detroit in its rightful place

We celebrated in an alternative fashion

We blogged it, live

We brought out our hummers and paraded down the street

Even our custodial crew got in on the fun

We popped bottles

We destroyed an Uber cab

We lived, we laughed, we loved.

And that's it, friends. We've done it all, we've lived it all. If I had the strength, I'd cry. I bid you all goodbye, and so farewell.

Shots From Saturday Night: Endless Canvas

Special Delivery debuted on Saturday night, and we were there to check it out. The event took place in a 36,000 sq ft warehouse around 4th and Gilman in Berkeley. Over the last few months, dozens of Bay Area graffiti artists dedicated much time and energy to covering three stories of walls, ceilings and floors with amazing art. The show was open to the public for one night only on Saturday and we were there to take it all in.

This picture represents about 1/3rd of the line. Worth every second though

Dolores Park's New Playground Also Makes One Helluva Freestyle Course

Full Frame Collective tells us all about it:

On a Sunday evening D Block, and a few others went to Dolores to ride the newly built playground. At the playground there’s a perfect slide to ride as a bank. We got there around dusk and there were still a bunch of kids playing so we waited it out.

Sick!  Also, good on them for waiting it out and not plowing into the little intended users.

(And to see a sampling of what else FFC has been up to, give their Clocktower edit a watch:)

Beautiful Rainbow Temporarily Entertains People Waiting in Ridiculous Lines at Trendy Mission Restaurants

Did you catch the beautiful double rainbow set against a killer SF sunset last night?  No?  Well here it is, from the top of Dolores Park:

What does it mean?  Something about light reflecting off water in the atmosphere.  But enough of that junk science, what it really meant is people were delighted with a colorful diversion while going about their usual business.  Observe:

Folks uploaded photos to Instagram, Twitter (via Instagram), Facebook (via Twitter via Instagram), Tumblr, Flickr, and Path (because, “why not”) while waiting in line for Southpaw, noting they were about to have “The. Best. BBQ. Ever.”

This guy ran out of Weird Fish and into the middle of the street to photograph the phenomenon.

Finally, back at the ever-popular 25 cent wing night at Dr. Teeth, dinner on the back patio was rudely interrupted by atmospheric freak show, forcing diners to photograph the event, call their friends to make sure they saw it, and scowl at the lack of 'liking' activity in the 47 seconds since uploading the photo.

Did you get any photos of other human beings getting photos of G*d's majesty?  Let us know in the comments for an opportunity at being a famous Uptown Almanac commenter!
