(With Comedy)

Mission CTRL Wants to Change Your Life

The San Francisco-based sketch comedy group Mission CTRL (pronounced “Mission Control”—not to be confused with Mission Control, or, for that matter, Mission Control) is back on stage this month with a series of performances at PianoFight, and they want to help you revolutionize your life through the power of comedy.

The latest production from the group, 7 Secrets Of Lifecomedy Success, endeavors to instruct those lucky enough to be in attendance on a “comedic/lifestyle scaffolding” they call Lifecomedy.

From the press release:

With Lifecomedy, you can improve your marital, sexual, and social statuses. Learn how to get back *with* as well as get back *at* your old lovers with Lifecomedy. Show your supervisor who’s really doing the supervising with Lifecomedy. Improve your speedreading with Lifecomedy. Reverse aging. (Lifecomedy, again.) Control your dreams with—knock, knock—Lifecomedy. Stop making mistakes and worrying about if you should blame it on yourself or someone else because you don’t know whether to trust your shame mechanism, Lifecomedy.

Mission CTRL Managing Partner Duncan Wold told Uptown Almanac that it might be best to think of the upcoming show as a “satirical self-help seminar” that instructs the audience on the “7 secrets of Lifecomedy Success (and you won’t believe #3!).”

The first performance is this Friday, June 5th. Tickets are cheap—the discount code “uptown” gets you a $12 ticket here (no ticketing fees!)—and the beer is plentiful.
